Welcome to the Library!

I am your Librarian, Elaine Downey. I was a Houston Police Officer for eight years. I worked patrol for six years and investigations for two years.

I received a Bachelors degree from Sam Houston State University, Master of Arts from University Clear Lake, and a Masters in Education from University of North Texas. I have a Masters in Library Science from University of North Texas. I have state certification as a special education teacher and as a librarian. 

I have been married for 27 years and I have a nineteen year old son, Houston. I don't live on a farm but, you might think I should after you learn about my animals. I have my own petting zoo. I have an African Desert tortoise, fish, birds, and FOUR dogs. 

I am excited about a new school year at Borman! I am starting my fourteenth year at Borman.  We are going to have book fairs, Bluebonnet program, and many other fun activities in the library!

The TumbleBook Library is a collection of TumbleBooks (animated, talking picture books), TumblePuzzles, TumbleQuizzes, and TumbleResources for teachers. TumbleBooks are created from existing picture books, which we have licensed from children's book publishers and converted to the TumbleBook format. Lots of fun for everyone!!!!!
